& WSO 1LT McKinney jr. with their SUU-23/A gunpod. Callsign: sapphire 01 (Cool, 2 MIG´s at one day) MIG kill #3 Dec.19th 1967 MIG-17 Pilot Maj. Moore & WSO 1LT
McKinney jr. (again), also with SUU-23/A gunpod. Callsign was Nash01 They had
to share this 3rd MIG kill with an F-105F 63-8329 of 333 TFS, so actually this F-4D has "only" 2 and a half MIG kills
:-) I hate to tell that this Phantom was shot down
on Feb. 16th 1972 by an SA-2 (SAM). Pilot Capt Schwertfeger and his WSO 1LT Galati bailed out but became POW´s. They were released in March 28th 1973.
